José Antonio Antolí (Spain) is a singular artist who works with metals and copper in innovative ways. His work is the result of an extensive professional experience as an artisan in the forge (wrought – iron) and the work with various kinds of metals. All his compositions are the result of a handmade process. His artworks include iron sculptures, metal art pictures, CopperTextures, and decorative furniture in copper.
Antoli produces an artistic language that immerses the observer in the Universe of the imagination and feelings. With his chromatic harmony always in movement, he achieves the integratation of the metal shines to obtain a plastic elegance that surprise in shapes and shades.
His recent collection, ‘CopperTextures’, is inspired by the physical, emotional and spiritual transformations that characterize the human experience during a lifetime. Antoli tries to express this movement through the medium of copper, which starts out as a pristine and clean material and through his unique process of ‘painting’ with fire, is transformed into beautiful, one of a kind, living pieces. Each piece tells a unique life story. They seem to have an organic response to the environment in which it is placed, as it interacts and transforms with light and shadows.
