Artist: Rabarama
Rabarama

Rabarama was born in Rome in 1969. She lives and works in Padova.

Artist daughter of an artist father, gifted with great talent for sculpture since her early childhood, she attended the Artistic High School in Treviso, and then the Academy of Arts in Venice. After her brilliant graduation in 1991, she took part at national and international sculpture awards, always acclaimed by critics and public.

Rabarama sculptures are made in painted bronze. First, the artist makes the model in terra-cotta. That’s when her idea becomes something material. Then, the model is brought to the foundry and the fusion is made with the technique that was used in the 15th Century, using a made in wax. Finally the sculpture is painted in oil and varnish. For the monumental sculptures, that most of the times, are placed outside, the artist uses a special wax.

In 1995 she teams up with Dante Vecchiato Gallery, and in the span of a few years she gains notoriety as one of the most promising new talents in the contemporary art-scene.

Today, Rabarama is well known and fully appreciated as a sculptress as much as a painter. She’s been awarded several official honors, in and out of Italy.

She has held numerous exhibitions in Italy, Belgium, France, Monaco, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Mexico, Venezuela, Canada, U.S.A., Hong Kong, China, Japan, and Korea.
